Fans of The Mindy Project know that Mindy Lahiri is one of the best dressed doctors on TV. (If you haven’t seen an episode of the show, trust us, her clothes are that good.) And Mindy Kaling’s TV alter ego is known for her bold, colorful coats. Good news: You can wear them this winter too.

Gilt.com has teamed up with the show’s Emmy-nominated costume designer, Salvador Perez, who designed his first-ever apparel collection under his own label — exclusively for Gilt. The inspiration? Mindy of course!
“I am so excited to debut my coat collection for Gilt.com,” Perez tells PeopleStyle. “The Mindy Project fans have been asking for these custom designs for years, and now they have the opportunity to purchase the coats I designed for Mindy. They are in bright colors with my signature button details and will add a bold statement to your wardrobe.”
Perez adds coats play a huge role in bringing Mindy’s character to life.
“As always we love outerwear,” he shares. “We shoot in Los Angeles, and the show takes place in New York, so to give that east coast feel, outer wear is a big part of her wardrobe.”

The limited-edition outerwear collection features six coats — styles range from classic houndstooth to vivid tweeds — which will also be featured throughout season 4 of The Mindy Project on Hulu. (Read: You can shop them in real time!)

Earlier this year, Perez told PeopleStyle that Mindy (who nabbed a spot on our 2015 Best Dressed list) is very good about choosing silhouettes that flatter her figure off-screen.
“Mindy will find a great coat she likes, but to make it flatter her it should be more tailored,” he said. “So we’ll take coats that are like a cocoon coat and we tailor them, and then they’re just more flattering on.”
